Update

  • Apr. 21st, 2008 at 12:32 PM
My tomato seedlings are NUMEROUS. I've got about 35 Rosso Bruno seedlings (brown tomatoes), and about 30 Brandywine seedlings. I want them to get a little bigger before I exchange or gift them out.

Lemons!

  • Apr. 13th, 2008 at 8:26 AM
My Mother-in-Law has an Empire Lemon Tree, all she ever does is water this tree and somehow it produces an enormous amount of lemons. Two days ago she picked 4 Trader Joes bags worth of lemons and I was able to sell almost all of them at our garage sale. However I still have maybe 24 lemons left, most of them are gigantic. So if anyone needs lemons now let me know. The tree still has another 4 or 5 bags worth of lemons to be picked and more that will be ready later.

Hi folks!

Great way to start a community... opening it and getting too busy to post anything right away, eh? Eek! Anyway, here I am finally, main mod. Feel free to promote the community wherever you think potential members can be found. I've only promoted in naturalliving so far, but not yet in the single oc I belong to.

My stuff:
1 regular lemon tree, gearing up to produce
1 Meyer lemon tree, also gearing up to produce
1 Fuyu persimmon tree, produces closer to end of summer
And I just started a ton of Brandywine and Rosso Bruno (brown) tomato seedlings, too many to use all of them myself. They need to mature slightly before I offer them for trade.
I may also consider trading off some of my Oriental Poppy seedlings if I can figure out how to separate them. I planted WAY too many in each peat pellet.

Cabbage anyone?

  • Apr. 8th, 2008 at 12:00 PM
I have six green cabbage plants that I added to my garden about a month ago and they should be ready sometime late May. I didn't expect all of them to be doing so well, but they are and it is causing crowding. I would like to part with 2-3 of them. If you have anything you would like to trade, let me know. (finished fruits and veggies preferred since I'm out of room)

OMG so excited!

I'm totally excited about the idea of a produce swap! From my in-laws I get bags of oranges, lemons and limes. From my mother I get bags of grapefruit and I myself have been known to grow: tomatoes, swiss chard, spinach, cabbage, lettuce, peas, zucchini, cucumber, carrots, mandrin oranges, potatoes, onions, garlic, rosemary, time, eggplant, radishes, and I'm sure a few other things. . .all in my container garden (of course not at once). So I'm looking forward to swapping with people!

First post!

Hey everybody...I have a container garden which is mostly in seedling stage. I have a mature and fruiting lemon tree, but none of the lemons are quite ripe at the moment. So all told, I would if I could but I can't so I won't. Lovely way to start a community! I'll be sure to post if I have surplus once my garden actually matures! =D
